If you’ve ever wondered where our weirdest headband designs come from, welcome to Random Ass Sass.
Random Ass Sass is one of our favorite traditions at The Sassy Olive because it combines the creativity of our community with the artistic talent of our founder and designer, Landria. A few times a year, Landria asks our followers on social media to submit random words. Then we choose three of those words and challenge her to create an original fabric design that somehow ties them all together.
There are no rules, no do-overs, and no swapping out difficult words for easier ones. Once the words are selected, the challenge begins.
Sometimes the elements naturally fit together. More often, they don’t. That’s what makes it fun! One headband design might start with something as unrelated as ballerinas, castles, and headphones. Another might combine concepts that seem impossible to put into a single pattern. Yet somehow, Landria finds a way to transform those random ideas into a cohesive design that is playful, wearable, and uniquely Sassy Olive.
